My name is Tegan Phillips, I am 24 and I come from Cape Town, South Africa. For the past few years, I've been travelling around the world with my bicycle, Axel, running a webcomic about our (mis)adventures. I started making comics initially as part of an entry to a competition to win a touring bike from adventurer Tom Allen, which I won, and cycled from Bristol to the south of Spain. I have since spent ten months cycle-touring through Africa with my parents and sister, and continued solo touring in the UK and New Zealand.
I love cycle touring because I want to see the world but I can't afford a car.
(Just kidding).

Gökben and Nicolas, a multi-cultural couple from Turkey and France, got married and set off in April 2014 to discover new countries, encounter new people and live their dreams. In April 2018 we left our home in Munich, Germany in order to cycle to Bangkok, Thailand. We didn't know what to expect at that point, but we were curious to find out. In the next 7 month we crossed Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos and Thailand - 13.746 km by bike only.
It wasn't always easy, in fact it was pretty tough sometimes. But what kept us going even on the highest mountains, in the hottest deserts and on the roads with the heaviest traffic or headwind was the joy of experiencing the beauty of the world first hand. There's kind and generous people all over the world and there's sceneries more beautiful than you could image.

Me rompí varios huesos
En 2016 estuve recorriendo sudamérica durante 9 meses. (8500 km)
Proyectos solidarios (totalmente desinteresados):
He colaborado y financiado proyectos agropecuarios en Senegal, 1 año

In search of a new chapter in life we have chosen to travel the world by bike.
The previous chapter contained way to few colorful pages and lacked some of the excitement we need to feel fully stimulated. We started our journey from Uppsala Sweden and have biked through Europe and part of Afrikas west coast where we will bike down to South Africa. The plan is to continue biking in Asia, Australia, South-, Central- and North America.
Carolina Nordfors is an adventure seeking teacher who´s after something you can´t learn from a book.
After years of longing for more time on my hands to travel and enjoy the great outdoors. Dreaming of extended vacations (yes I know I´m a teacher). Even if teaching is both inspiring and challenging it won´t substitute for a real life cultural or adventurous experience.
Per Karlström is an adventure seeking, nature loving, dive fanatic with a passion for photography, who also now are adapting to the idea of doing all of this full time while exploring the world by bike.
The outdoors have always had a positive impact on me, no matter if it´s on top of a mountain, in the middle of a rainforest or fully submerged in the sea. When I started to walk I could explore the forests surrounding my home, always with greater trips in mind. Old enough to get on a plane I set out to explore nature in more remote areas of the world. The passion for flora and fauna has always been a driver in my choice of destinations. However interacting with people from other cultures and backgrounds have probably had the biggest impact on me as a person.

Mirjam Wouters has gone on a accidental bike trip that, so far, has lasted 16 years.
Originally from the Netherlands she grew up in a family with 3 sisters and no car.
The bicycle has always been her first means of transport so it's not too strange she chose to ride it around the world.
Her plan was "just" to cycle to Australia...
Now, with 63 countries and 93.000km under her wheels, she's temporarily back where she started.
Itching to hit the road again with her 1 year old baby girl.

Bonjour!
We are two Canadian reporters/adventurers on bicycles. Since May 1990, we have pedalled and travelled for more than 250,000 kilometres on 5 continents in some 80 countries. Still searching for the peoples and landscapes of our planet, we undertook in June 2014 to ride towards the nomadic peoples who live and wander between the northermost point of Europe, Nordkapp, and Africa's southern tip, Kaap Agulhas, another cycling odyssey—...and almost an algebraic equation!—we named « NOMADS² : nomads by nomads from cape to cape! » In April 2016, some 21 months after having left the expedition's departure point and 21, 000 kilometres further, our panniers loaded with tens of thousands of photos, tons of anecdotes, hours of videos, and a wealth of data about the nomads on our « wanted list » and their respective environments, we came back to Canada with the desire to share scenes we witnessed, adventures endured and...catch our breath, regroup! We thus returned to our Quebec, Charlevoix « basecamp » and consider ourselves halfway through our current exploration project...can't wait to return to Africa and our nomads!
We strive to pedal, travel, encounter, photograph, film, record, note, share, testify, publish, and broadcast in order to expose realities and raise awareness about far-away situations, link and connect distant cultures and individuals, bring them closer, make them more familiar with one another, and thus contribute to the creation and the preservation of a solidarity, sisterhood and brotherhood, genuinely human.

Everything started with a 'Schnappsidee' (German expression for crazy idea) when I (Eric) told my future wife (Mun) that we could visit my future parents in law by bicycle.Mun Suk spontaneously agreed to this idea even without having a clue what this really means. To be fair I did explain here, as best as I could and with all of my already achieved traveling experience behind me, what a trip like this can be and what can face on this tour, like: sore muscles, no first class hotels or restaurants in every town where we have to stop, not every day sunshine and not every place is a paradise, but still Mun Suk was eager to go on so we started this bicycle tour and I was happy to have a wife like her.
When we started, as it should be, we had our ups and downs. But we managed to keep the idea and our bicycle tour project: ‘pay a visit of my parents in law in South Korea’ alive and after 15 months and 13.500 km we had achieved our first goal of our bicycle world tour.
We visited 21 countries on 4 continents and we cycled 55.000 km. Trip I, from Germany to South Korea, has taken place from 1998 to 1999 and Trip II, South America and Europe, from 2005 to 2008. Later then the year 2011 we had the time for a smaller bicycle tour in Europe so we came up with the idea to visit the North Cape.
Nowadays many people believe that the world is a dangerous place. On TV they show you that in many countries of this world are natural disasters, wars and people suffering. But let me tell you this:
THE WORLD IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL PLACE WITH VERY NICE PEOPLE ON IT and the nasty and ugly parts that exists too are only found on a very small part of this planet. So if you really want to now the ‘real’ world and to see, feel and taste it what this planet has to offer you, don’t watch it on TV, go out there yourself and enjoy it,to be on this beautiful planet.

'Dreams are like sticks, you just have to chase them'
In a nutshell, I left my previous live as a chain smoking bartender and decided to find a path I would be proud of. Little did I realize at the time, the shelter dog I had adopted a couple years before would give me that answer and take me on this incredible journey I’ve been on. 4 years and 25,000 miles later. I don’t smoke, I’m a force for local animal shelters everywhere and I’ve accomplished something the former me thought impossible.I try my best to encourage other to find their passion and pursue it as well.

I left Germany in May 2012 to cycle all the way to India. After 9 month and 10.000 km I finally reached the subcontinent, and decided to continue my trip. I cycled a big round through South East Asia, along numerous Indonesian islands to Timor-Leste and finally crossed the Australian continent. Now, 5 years and more than 40,000km later I am still on the road and I plan to go to Southamerica next.

Here's a message from a girl on the road!
I started my bikeride on the 28th of August 2015 from the Netherlands, the place where I was born, the place that I called home. Driven by curiousity and a strong desire to feel connected with the rest of the world, I took off. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. No idea what was awaiting for me out there. Trusting on the good of the people in this big world outside, I felt comfortable to take off. On my own. Still I would never describe myself as a 'soloist' as this whole ride would be about exactly the opposite. As one of the most beautiful experiences for me on this big bikeride is that I was taking in and taking care of by people I meet at the most unlikely of places I cross, from the moment I started. To experience and feel that people are willing to take you in as a stranger and treat you as if you were one of their own, is the biggest reward possible for taking off 'on my own'. And so I continued my ride, trusting in the good of the people, feeling truly happy to have met everyone of them.
From the Netherlands I cycled to the bottom of Europe: Portugal. And as I reached Lisbon I just totally got the feeling: if you can cycle a distance like this on a bicycle, then you can possibly cycle, the world! And so I continued my ride as I took a flight to the 'bottom of the world': New Zealand. Feeling slightly more comfortable with this big plan I had in mind - to cycle all the way home - I still felt terrified of the big mountains passes ahead of me. What can I say, being Dutch I was not exactly what you call 'used to mountains', but after the whole of New Zealand I told myself, I was ready for the world. Then I crossed to Australia and after a remote stretch in the outback I told myself once more, now I am ready for the world! And so I continued my ride, and an explosion of experiences of all different cultures started when I crossed to Indonedia, Maylasia, Thailand, and the whole of sounth-east Asia, ending in Myanmar. I decided to change my route towards China and Mongolia as the borders to India got closed, and how lucky was I cycling the Tibetan plateau and the remote stetches in Monglia, they were absolutely magnificent! Currently I am cycling central Asia, still on my way home. But home is no longer just a place where I have my roots and my family. I now feel at home at all the places where I once rode my bike. As these are the streets where I now know exactly what life is like.
To be continued! Happy pedalling my friends.

I'm Anastasia, a cyclist from Russia. I've started to travel by bike occasionally in May 2012 and I don't know how I lived before that! We (me and my bike) have already visited all continents except Antarctica and exlored the islands that are so unlike them - Iceland and Madagascar. In Russia I work hard as a teacher of mathematics, so the time of my trips is strongly tied to the school year, but I try to spend every vacation on the road - from two weeks on Christmas to two months in the summer. Many believe that you can truly experience the life only at the exit from the comfort zone, so they go on the road. As for me, I feel my life is comfortable. In all its diversity! Therefore I keep a balance between work and exploring the world! ツ

We are Anita Burgholzer and Andreas Hübl from Austria. For many years now, we are sharing a big passion: Travelling by bicycle. What started back in 2007 with a four-week test ride in Yemen, found its peak between May 2010 and September 2012: A 844-day Journey around the world. On this epic voyage, we were riding 36,500 kilometers through three continents and 35 countries.
Our yearning for new bicycle adventures is still unbroken. Again and again we are taking a few Months off, venturing into new adventures on two wheels. Back in 2015 for example we were participating at “The Sun Trip”, a Rally for solar-powered E-Bikes. With a self-developed Solar-Tandem we were riding from Austria to Kazakhstan. The challenge was to do the 8.000 km route on an electric bicycle, only powered by the sun and our own muscle power.
In 2017, we went "back to our roots" and were riding 5.000 kilometers along the „Great Divide MTB-Route“ on “normal” bikes, enjoying North America´s great nature and stunning landscapes.

We recently got married and rather than do the usual thing of going to a beach resort we decided instead to cycle tour South America. Travel slow and really experience the countries we passed through. We spent 5 months cycling from Peru to Argentina and passed through some breathtaking areas, met some wonderful people and made some amazing memories.

In January 2018 we set off for a bicycle journey from our home in the Netherlands to Southeast Asia, and maybe even further. An adventure with as little planning as possible and no real goal besides enjoying it.
We are just starting our Silk Route journey, the picture taken at the Sultanhani Caravanserai in Turkey.

"We are a French couple, Gwen and Olivier. We had this idea of leaving our conventional life for a new lifestyle of traveling and live closer from nature. What could be a better way than travel with bicycles ? We enjoy so much our adventurous lives, living without knowing where we will sleep at night, who we will meet... Sleeping under the stars, cooking on forests, washing on rivers... Traveling on bicycles is also a way to spot the everyday life on the streets, we are not spectators of the country we are traveling in, we are part of it. Most of all, we think traveling with bicycles offers you ultimate freedom. We feel grateful to be in this journey together as a couple. So far we've crossed Central Asia (Pamir is definitely a highlight!) Iran, Persian Gulf and India from southern cap to Himalaya. We are now about to experiment a new adventure on a new continent... Africa is waiting us! "

"Our little trio consist of Vroni, Jonas and our loyal flying friend Droni. We do not see ourselves as hardcore cyclists but as travellers on bicycles. Without anything shiedling you from your environment, this kind of transport has allowed us to learn so many things about us and the world we live in to an extend that we did not imagined possible. The last 16 months of cycling in New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia have changed our perspective on how we want to start living our adult life once we have cycled back to Germany greatly."

“No time on a bike is wasted— whether it’s commuting across town, riding all over the world, spending an afternoon pedaling for fun or racing. It is all time spent moving outside and being connected with the world. Traveling by bike is my favorite way to learn. When I’m traveling in a new place, I learn about terrain and weather and culture and I start caring about the place. It never gets boring”

We are Lena and Stefan from Germany. In 19 months we cycled 22.001 kilometers and managed to do a loop without flying. From Germany we cycled through eastern Europe, Turkey, Iran and Central Asia. We spent 3 months to cross china and reach south-east Asia. In Singapore we took a cargo ship to go back to Europe. After 3 weeks on the sea we reached Greece and started our way back to Germany.
